Bare Bones

Posted on Jun 15, 2014

It’s a bare-bones schedule to start off our week!

One new thing that is starting this week is Nat and Drew’s Crazy Cash Cube – if you are the right caller (10?) you win a 4 pack of Playland passes and a skip-the-line pass to play their money game at Playland. On June 27th, they will have an enclosed booth (I’m picturing a telephone booth) where there will be money flying around, and you try to get as many of the bills as possible. While this SOUNDS very cool, the money is fake and you don’t win anything for getting the most bills. Basically it’s just a fun game that you play for free between 10 and 1pm, maybe hosted by Nat and Drew, maybe not. The best part is that if you visit that booth on THAT day btwn 10 and 1, you can enter to win $1000 AND a family rafting trip with Reo Rafting. But ANYBODY who is at Playland that day can enter the draw, so… I guess I’ll be going to Playland on June 27th! LOL! The draw will be done THAT DAY at 4pm, and the winner will be drawn from all online and onsite entries – pretty good odds if it’s a rainy day at Playland! The online entry will happen from 10am till 1pm on Friday June 27th, so if you can’t make it to Playland, make sure to set your reminder in your phone to go enter online at lunchtime. One entry per method per person is allowed. It doesn’t say what time of the morning they will do the cue to call to win the passes, but by Tuesday we’ll know. The winning caller will get the 4 pack of Playland passes but can use them ANY day, they don’t have to specifically used on the 27th!

Listen all season for the the sounds of Playland on Sonic to win a 4 pack of passes.

CFOX has something fun right now – listen for the song “Do I Wanna Know” by Arctic Monkeys and be caller 9 when it ends (?) to win a 3 day pass PLUS parking for Squamish Fest! That’s a $1400 package! Sweet. They have 20 to give away between now and July 6th. It doesn’t say anywhere that it’ll only happen on weekdays, so maybe weekends are game too, since it ends on a Sunday. In any case, it won’t happen every day, as there are more days than prizes. Maybe only 4 per week.

This week Rock 101 continues with their Song of the Day contest – listen at 7:15am when Willy names the Song of the Day. Be the 10th caller when you hear it (when it starts, I believe), and you instantly win concert tickets. Here’s the catch: this contest runs until September 7th – you are only allowed ONE winner per HOUSEHOLD during the entire contest! So have a look at what concerts are happening this summer, and choose the one you really want to see… Elton John, Tom Petty, Nazareth, The Cult, Queen, etc.
