Peak’s contest

Posted on Mar 17, 2015

After reading Peak’s new contest’s rules, I will refrain from using its proper name. Down near the bottom of the rules and regs it firmly states that you may NOT use their logos, slogans, promotional materials, etc – their mention is strictly prohibited. I’m not one to follow “life rules” so much, but I respect and honour contest rules (and rules of the road, etc.)

So let’s talk about Peak’s new contest, henceforth referred to as “the contest”.

This is a repeat of last year’s contest. I can’t remember if I liked it or not, but my initial reaction was *groan*. A bazillion entries, listening at rush hours (11 and 2), only 10 minutes to track people down… it’s stressful! For me. LOL! We’ll see how it goes.

To enter, go to the Peak site and log in. Nominate someone, and you could win the matching prize – cash up to $1000. That’s $1000 for you and $1000 for your nominee. Rule 1 says that there are 20 cash prizes available, but Rule 5 says there are 18. In any case, listen at 7, 11, 2, 5, and 7 each weekday. If they read your entry, you have 10 minutes to call them back. If you call in time, you will be in the running for the prize the next morning. If only one person calls back that day, the odds of winning are… well… pretty darned good! LOL! If all 5 people call back, your odds of winning are 1 in 5. Still great odds!

If your entry is read but you do NOT win, you will be in the running for the listeners’ choice award – people will be asked to vote, but the ultimate decision is made by Peak. If your entry was read but you did NOT call back, you are NOT elligible for the listeners’ choice award. If your entry WAS read, you have until the following Monday morning to get friends to vote for your entry. I’m not sure it’ll make a difference, but it can’t hurt!

The winner of each day’s elligible entries (those who called back) will be announced the following morning at 8:30. The winner is selected via random draw, which I like because it’s fair and not subject to interpretation.

You can enter this contest more than once, but each entry has to be for a different reason. It says there’s a limit of ONE prize per household – I wonder if that means you can’t nominate your spouse? Because that would be TWO prizes – one for the nominator and one for the nominee. Hmmmmm…

If you enter, don’t forget to listen at 7, 11, 2, 5, and 7 starting next Monday. Check all the rules and regs at and get those entries in asap! I don’t think I’ll be entering this time – I’m feeling uninspired today. Maybe tomorrow.

Good luck!
