Monday May 4th

Posted on May 4, 2015

Aright sci fi fans, I’m only going to say this once: May the 4th be with you.

I’m not going to whine to you about the absolute hell that we went through with our move, but I’d just like to say this: don’t ever hire movers from Craig’s List. We paid for 3 guys and a truck – they showed up 3 hours late, and one guy did basically nothing so my husband had to work his a$$ off. They snapped the footboard of my bed in two, rendering the whole frame useless. They broke the handle off my dresser, and ripped a wheel off the trundle bed. I thought because they had a good ad and a decent name – Canadian Coast Living – that they would be professional movers. They were not. I don’t think any of them had worked there for more than a week! Lesson learned.

On with the show:

The Waking Crew is back! Yaaay! The Secret Word prize is Cloverdale Rodeo passes, but I’m not sure if that’s for giving it or hearing it. They will have Kenny Chesney tickets  all week, and you can enter to win Shania tickets if you log in to your account. Listen for the 1K A Day words at 7, 11, 2, 5, and 7, then enter them in your Online Insider account. You don’t have to get ALL the words – each word is an entry.

Try your luck at being caller 30 for Spring Ka-ching at 5:40, 7:40, 12:40, 2:40, and 4:40. The lucky caller wins $5000 this week! Virgin also has a lovely Mother’s Day prize at 8:35, where you have to guess which celebrity Mom is  in the Momtage. The prize is a night at the Sheraton, and a $200 spa gift certificate. Nice!! I know who I’d be taking – NO ONE! ;D

QMFM has $250 e-transfers again this week at 7:05, 8:05, and 9:05.  At 8:35 you can play for a Mother’s Day prize – $250 to Daniadown. Winners will be entered for the grand prize – breakfast in bed, spring cleaneers, and an extra $250 to Daniadown.

Peak’s iPad a Day in May started on Friday, and plays on weekends too. This time we TEXT the band names to 88000, including your full name. You have until midnight to text them in. Listen for the band names at 7, 11,  2 , 5 and 7.

Breakfast Television has a Breville juicer at 8:20, and a Lole Women’s prize pack at 6:10, 7:10, and 8:10.

CFOX’s Payroll hires at 8, 11, 2, and 5. They also have Lucha Libre tickets and a Dewalt radio with the JOS,  the  midday show will have Cloverdale Rodeo tickets, the afternoon show will have Tame Impala tickets plus Bumbershoot passes, and the evening show will have Cloverdale Rodeo passes and movie passes.

Kiah and Tara Jean have New Kids On The Block tickets at 7:20. K-K-K-Kenny on Jack has left us, has headed off to a new job in Ontario I believe. I wonder if Kieran will be taking his spot? One more week of Win at Work. Whew!

Choose the cash or the car on Rock 101 at 8, 11, 2, and 5 (ish). On their site’s Contest page you can enter to win money, concert tickets, or gas for your car. Just click on the link to see what Willy’s holding that week, then fill in the entry form.

Well, those smarty-pants at Z95.3 had Matty B play Uptown Funk just after 4 on Thursday. Thank you CV Backup for texting me to let me know! I had brought my radio so I plugged it in and turned it on to gauge how fast he was answering the phones – he was really taking his time! I was unloading my van at the new place with one hand and hitting redial with the other on my cell. Alas, no luck. But it’s so fun to listen to Matty answer the calls – he’s so adorbs. I’m too old to say that word, but there it is. Adorbs.

TSN has a cool trip to Kamloops to play some golf, and also one to Whistler. Listen to Bro Jack to win.

That’s all I’ve got for now but check back later in the morning – more stuff will pop up.

A HUGE thank you to CV Backup for our new motto:

Keep Trying and Happy Dialling!
