Numeris Radio Ratings Winter 2016

Posted on Mar 27, 2016

Are you interested in the radio ratings? I am! I’m a total numbers geek. I’ve only included here the ten regular stations that I listen to, omitting the talk radio, CBC, sports, etc. Here’s how our music stations fared for the period of Nov 30th, 2015 – Feb 28, 2016. Veeeeeery interesting…

Rating, Station, % of Listenership:

1 – QMFM – 13.3%

2 – Virgin – 7.0%

3 – Rock 101 – 6.8%

4 – Z95.3 – 5.5%

5 – JRFM – 5.3%

6 – CFOX – 5.0%

7 – JACK – 4.9%

8 – LG104.9 – 4.5%

9 – Peak – 3.9%

10 – Kiss – 3.3%

I don’t know how to make a graph in WordPress, so I’ll just fumble along here and tell you what the order was in the last year. This list might not show up very nicely in your browser so I’m just going to apologize NOW! Heh.

Aug-Nov 2015,     June-Aug 2015,    Mar-May 2015,    Dec-Mar 2015

  9. LG104.3,               —–,                      —–,                         Kiss

There was something OFF about the June-Aug 2015 numbers. I’m not saying that Jack didn’t deserve the #3 spot, but I seem to recall reading something about the numbers being misrepresentative. Not sure why. This list doesn’t even make it down to 10 because there was a tie (or two) each season.

Regardless, you can see that Virgin edged out Rock 101 and JRFM finally overtook CFOX this year. Not by much, but still. Kiss is back down to the bottom spot – I wonder if that’s a seasonal fluctuation? I wonder if there ARE seasonal fluctuations? If I knew how to make a graph using a Mac, I would totally geek out on the numbers of the last 10 years! Alas, I do not. So I cannot. But if YOU want to, I’ll dig up those numbers for you! 😀
