There are a few things you can win this weekend, but they all involve getting wet!
Is Playland even open on rainy days?? If it is, it’s probably pretty empty. The PNE/Playland website says that individual rides may be shut down or the whole park may be closed due to inclement weather. CFOX is supposed to be there this morning to give the first 99 people to visit their booth free entry into the park. Hmmmm… not sure that’s going to happen!! Watch their Twitter feed or call Playland to see if that’s still happening!
Same goes for tomorrow – Rock 101 is giving free passes to the first 101 people. But at least tomorrow there’s only an 80% chance of rain. Hahaha! It’s supposed to clear up in the afternoon, so you could just hide out in the White Spot for a few hours I guess…
If you brave the weather and end up at Playland, make sure you take some pictures and share them on social media using #PEAKPlayland – you could win a pair of one day passes, and at the end of the season someone wins a season’s pass for 2017. Here’s how to enter (make sure you tag The PEAK and Playland):
JRFM is also getting us wet – they have Cultus Lake Water Park passes all weekend! WOOT!! Listen all day Saturday and Sunday for the cue to call to win a 4 pack of passes. Call 604-280-9370 when you hear it.
I’ll be working the Finn Fun booth at the Midsummer Festival in Burnaby on Saturday and Sunday afternoons. Stop by if you have nothing to do! The salmon BBQ and beer garden will be teeming despite the rain, I’m sure. There will be entertainment on the outdoor (covered) stage, lots of vendors, a cool Viking Village, etc. Entry is $10 for adults, kids are free.
The Dragon Boat Festival is also going on and the Olympic Village area has lots of activities going on for that. Too bad about all this rain dampening our fun. But slap on that smile and get out there – let a smile be your umbrella! LOL!
Have a great weekend!
