Monday Aug 20th
Did you win Ellen tickets? I didn’t. I tried SO HARD, but no luck. I got through a bunch of times but was never the right caller. Oh, except that one time when I would’ve won them from Peak but Casey Jo and James screwed me over. I had those Ellen tickets in my hand and they just ripped them away. Jerks. Even if I had been the same Anne who got through the first time (which I WASN’T!), she still should have been allowed to play again. Nowhere does it say you only get ONE shot at the game. I tweeted them and they tweeted back “we play again tomorrow at 5.” Piss off. I’m still sore about that (clearly) so I won’t be listening to Peak for a while…
Last week I won those tickets to Rock Ambleside and it. was. awesome! I could gush about this event all day long. Kim Mitchell was my husband’s favourite, but I am the hugest Trooper fan. Ray looked pretty wasted for the first half of the show, but seemed to pull it together for the last half. Nonetheless, they were incredible as always, and I’m SO grateful we got to go. The stars aligned and it was magical! I’d say it even tops the Ellen show, so if I have to miss Ellen, it’s okay. I got to go to Rock Ambleside!!!
I’ve been keeping track of the Mexico game on CKNW though, and that’s a tough one! I have no idea which ones are right at this point. It doesn’t help that the hosts each play differently – I have a feeling some of them have said “zero correct” even if a name was right but was in the wrong order. A slip like that can really screw up your Venn diagram! Mine’s more of a columnar situation, but still. I’ve been working on the assumption that when they said “zero correct” they meant none of the names were right. This may be the fork in the spokes, in the end. The password on the protected post with all the guesses remains the same.
After the Thursday 4pm play, Lynda Steele made a comment about a website where you can pay to get the list of names used. Was she referring to MY site? Or is there another one out there? If she was talking about MY site, she is mistaken – it is FREE. Some of the posts are password protected because they are for newsletter subscribers only. Those who have subscribed to the newsletter get inside info, but that is also FREE.
Then she added “that’s pathetic” and I wondered why she would say that? Why is that pathetic? Pathetic that people would PAY for the info? Or pathetic that it’s being kept track of and the info is being shared? Either way, I was momentarily offended. I thought maybe her producer Eric (who used to be with Kiah and TJ at Jack) dissed me to her, but why would he do that? Luckily, I’m now at a stage in my life where I don’t really give a shit what people think of me, or what they think of anything I’m doing. If they want to call it pathetic, that’s cool. You do you, Boo. And I’ll do me. And I’ll keep sharing as long as my followers keep caring. Most of my followers are wonderful and kind, and I’m happy to help them any way I can.
Speaking of which, I’m going to be away for the next week, leaving Tuesday morning. Heh. It’s the perfect week to be away since Willy et al are also away, and it doesn’t look like there’s much fun stuff going on. I won’t be listening to the radio at all while away so let me know if I miss anything!
New This Week:
Luke Bryan tickets still on JRFM once per day. You can log in HERE to find out the exact times the cue will play.
Not much else happening right now. Maybe something will be announced on Monday? I’ll update the post Monday afternoon so it’s up to date before I leave on Tuesday.
Here are the links to the radio station contest pages. I am feeling rather uninspired right now so I didn’t even list the stuff available to win. Maybe my interest in it will be renewed after a week away.
