2020 can fuck the hell off. I’m in a bad mood and it’s because I didn’t win $5000 and it’s my own damned fault. FACK!
The friend I was working with KNEW it was Barack Obama. She told me it was Barack probably a week ago. Thursday morning she was still insistent but I waffled – he didn’t fit with the others in my mind. When we got the clue “first”, she knew she was right because he was the first black president. By then I agreed with her. But then a different friend told me they thought it was Neil Armstrong and that made me question it – Neil made more sense in my mind. The only clues we had for Barack was American and first, but for Neil I could reason three clues – three Americans (there were three Americans on Apollo 11), first (man on the moon), and the voice says “one” (like in his famous words from the moon.) I dialled and was caller 10. In that instant, I chose Neil. It was wrong. On the following play someone guessed Barack and won $5000. I have been kicking myself since Friday at 5:20pm.
From now on I will not be posting about Mouth Off. Firstly because I want to win it for the friend I let down, secondly because I don’t want people talking to me about it. I am clearly easily swayed so if nobody tells me anything, I can’t second guess myself. If you’re playing Mouth-Off, I’m sorry – I can’t help you. And for the love of god, please don’t try to help ME!!!
That was just the crowning jewel in the shit-filled week I had. First, my birthday blew bigtime – my family completely ignored me and I didn’t get so much as a card. I got a disinterested “happy birthday” and that was that. On top of that, my name didn’t get called for Kid’s Cash, and I bent over backwards getting the Virgin codes and they didn’t call me either. Fuck them. I’m done. I will, however, still listen to Breeze because I like them and I like the music. They don’t call me either but at least I enjoy listening to them…
I got through for Beat The Bank a few times last week too but never the right caller. AUGH!
Reminder: I’m not collecting Virgin codes this week and I can’t help you with Mouth-Off. But I’ll call you if I hear your name on Zed.
Wah, wah, wah, woe is me. Pfft. Get over myself. Let’s put on a happy face and attack this week with renewed aplomb! Ready? Aaaaaand… GO!
BTW, the names for Kid’s Cash last week were: Nicholas Hay, Eileen Ong, Andrew Croswell, Cristina Lawrie, Stella Peterson, Darlene Cheveldaw, Jenna Smith, Breanne Leeky, Lawrence Leo, Carly Sloan, Joshua Froese, Jill Cross, Richelle Brant, Alyssa Jai, Kimberly Brown.
Thank you for playing my What The Hell IS That?! game. You came up with some really amazing guesses but nobody got it right. It was “sticking a hot poker into the lake” which was what my kids did for fun after they made enough smores. The people who guessed “pouring water onto the sauna stove” or “putting out the campfire” were all reeeeeeally close. I realize it was a really tough one so I’ll make the next one easier…
